Sound Bath in Cascade Cave

Carter Caves State Resort Park
Saturday, March 28, 2026 | 6:30–8:00 PM

Join us for an evening sound bath inside the Dance Hall of Cascade Cave, one of Kentucky’s most distinctive natural environments. Held after regular tour hours, this experience invites you to slow down and listen in a setting shaped by limestone, time, and stillness.

This sound bath will be facilitated by Amy Hudson, founder of The Sound Healing Center of Lexington and a Reiki Master. Amy creates grounded, intentional sound experiences that emphasize listening over performance and allow the environment itself to become part of the experience.

Crystal singing bowls and resonant instruments will be played while you rest on your mat or chair, surrounded by the cave’s stone walls. The acoustics of Cascade Cave allow sound to travel, echo, and settle in ways that cannot be replicated above ground.

This is not a performance. It is a shared experience of listening, held by sound and by place.

What to Expect & What to Bring

This experience takes place in an active cave environment. Please read the information below so you can arrive prepared and comfortable.

Seating & Comfort
Participants may lie down or sit upright. Bring your own mat or chair, along with blankets, cushions, or pillows. Because the cave floor is stone, you may want something thicker than a standard yoga mat for added insulation and comfort. Many guests may choose to bring a cushion and blanket to sit on.

Temperature
In March, the cave remains cool, typically around 50–55°F when the door is closed. Dress warmly and plan to bring layers and a blanket to stay comfortable throughout the hour-long session.

Ground Conditions
The cave floor is small crushed limestone and may be damp in areas, with occasional puddling. We recommend bringing a small tarp or ground cover to place beneath your mat or chair to protect from moisture.

Access & Walking Distance
The walk from the parking area to the cave is approximately 100–150 feet along a gravel path. Items with wheels should work on the path. There is one small step at the entrance to the cave.

Duration
The sound bath lasts approximately one hour. You will remain mostly in one position, so please bring whatever supports you need to be comfortable.

Additional Notes

  • This event is open to the general public and appropriate for all ages.

  • Space is limited, and advance reservations are required.

  • Please arrive early to allow time for parking, unloading, and settling in.
